Review
From Strathbogie Ranges comes another interesting suite of wines from
Municipal, one of my ‘under the radar but up in lights’ producers. So many
good wines emerge from this project.
There’s a kind of honeyed, toasty glow to the wine but still with
freshness in reserve. Lemon curd, green apple crunch, sweet spices, a
touch of straw, peanut brittle faintly in there. Lots of flavour, bright
acid profile, general energy and deliciousness. Quietly complex is the
gist. Drinkability high. Go forth.

Review
This is straight up
delicious drinking. Vibrant and fresh, cool and clean, licks of chalkiness
and squeaky feel to texture, good length and a persistent, lemon-lime,
mouth-watering finish. Perfume is more straight up florals and green
apple, but the volume is turned up to room-filling. Nothing to not like
here, it’s a complex, excellent expression.

Review
It’s a soft, but brightly
flavoured riesling. It’s more in the appley spectrum for riesling, shows a
touch of fennel in flavour, and offers a brisk, starburst of grapefruity
tang and firm chalkiness to close. The bouquet suggests a touch of
cereal-like savouriness, lemon curd. It’s lovely to sniff on. The wine
spreads well and fresh in the palate, and there’s chalky mineral character
running around, and there’s complexity, with a touch of nuttiness in tow.
I kept sipping. And sipping. It’s a complex, delicious, delicate and
flavoursome riesling. Off to a flying start, ey?
